Also anyone know if can change tie to ends without doing wheel alignment? Could I just undo and replace one end then do the other and try get it clode? Or is it too easy to get it right out? Just I have time now and nowhere is open till next Wednesday to get a wheel alignment!

Yes if you measure tie rod length before you start you should be close. Then to adjust toe, measure centre of each tire tread at front then rotate tyre till line is at back & measure again.Should be about 1-2mm toe in, ie shorter at front than rear.

Hi Bikemat
yeah, I guess it's difficult to define 'Death Wobbles', so we cant be sure we are all talkng about the same thing. My symptoms are.....The front end of my car shakes violently, as if i'm on square wheels, and I think I'm about to die. Other vehicles nearby slam on their brakes and honk loudly as they watch my vehicle shake from side to side.
Is that a description that matches others experiences of Death Wobbles ? hehe

Yep, the A frame arm with a ball joint above the rear diff. I purchased the balljoint, and two outer bushes myself for around $300, then paid a workshop $240 to install them. The workshops says if this doesnt fix it, they may have to adjust the castor. As there is no way to adjust castor on a WJ, they will have to make up brackets etc. which will be costly......so I'm hoping the bushes fix it.
I had the vehicle up to 90kph two days ago..so far so good.

Mikey. Sounds good. I'm about to do my a arm when I pull out to change over diffs! And change tie rods but I will do one at a time to try elimate it first. I think tie rods and tightening the steering gear are a major problem in death wobble!
