Do auto locksmiths have programming capacity for this level?

And I'm in Newcastle, so plenty of options.

Good auto locksmiths can duplicate a skim key. If the whole system has failed, you need a much deeper computer hack. Try a new battery first. There is always an option.

Need the dealer Star Scan so I doubt a lock smith can do it.

Called a locksmith and he said he could try, but was betting it would be unsuccessful.

What he did tell me is which of the local dealers to avoid, and that was priceless information in itself.

To answer your question I've done an extra fob into my own 2014 WK2.

I have over $140k of equipment and stock to do auto transponder work, Yes serious auto locksmiths (who only do auto work) can do this. Lots of locksmiths dabble in keys and clone

I have 7 different dedicated programming & Scan tools for auto work.
as well as EEPROM equipment for writing key logics directly into immo boxs when all keys are lost, all the big brands Toyota, Mitsy, Nissan, VAG are no issue.
This is not a sales pitch, just educating members what auto lockies can do.

I know guys in, Forster, Port Mac, Wagga that may be able to help, not sure about Gosford though.

cheers

Interesting!

I'm in Newcastle, about an hour north of Gosford.

If you can think of anyone in the Newcastle or Lake Macquarie region who can help, please let me know and I will gladly give them a call. At this stage with this car and what I intend to use it for, I really don't want the expense of a dealer visit. I would be happy of someone was able to delete the sentry key function, but my googling hasn't given me much hope that it is possible at this point in time.

Happy to take a PM, of you think this info is not for the public domain either.

Regards,

Robert

Correct, most auto lockies can read the pin from the skim.
Either EEPROM or via OBDII.
