Default Windshield Wiper Reservoir questions - preupdate

In the pre-update XJ, the windshield wiper reservoir is hidden in the passenger side body of the RHD XJs. Is this the same location for LHDs (i.e. their driver's side/our pax side)?

I was cleaning the engine bay the other day when I accidentally scraped off one of the brittle plastic hooks protruding from the top of the right side bodywork, just next to the ECU. It is along the side recess that the hood rests on. There is only one plastic hook remaining.

Are these hooks needed to fix the reservoir in its position? Are they load bearing? Can I live with having one plastic hook in place? It would seem like a lot of work to take the bodywork apart to replace the entire bottle. Was this reservoir relocated in 97-01 models?

My 96 (pre-update) washers both front & rear no longer work.

I have another bottle and both motors do work

( I probably should check if there is a fuse 1st)

But to replace the bottle, remove the front wheel, then the front inner apron rubber can be unclipped, and the bottle replaced, (according to a Youtube I saw)

So I dont think its a huge amount of work to get in there

Dont know about later bottles.

I will check for that Youtube and link it later on if I can find it again
