i sell stauns so i see this alot even new ones.......the little stem that take 2 has probs with allways gets stuck down for me 2...you dont have to put them back in the pouch and use the others just pull it up.....it wont affect the psi they go down to...pull one apart (carefully) and see how they work, they are very simple really

What's the best way to properly clean them? Mine have pretty much stopped working and I assume its because they're full of crap.

Yes.Im over my stauns i find them annoying now. They were great at first but now 1 or 2 wont deflate due pin sticking and the pressure are all over the place. They ring is so easliy moved after they have been used a few times that they get out alignment without even noticing sometimes.Back to ARB tyre deflator for me.Just becomes a hassle to have to re-adjust them all the time.

Once you set the stauns you lock them with pliers so they don't change setting.

As for not starting deflating, once I screw them on I grab the top with my finger nail and give it a light tug to get the ball rolling, not really that difficult.

Mine are still at the exact presure I set them at 5 years ago.

I have been threatening to get another set but never get around to it.
I have 2 set on 18psi for Sand and 2 set at 26 for the firmer stuff.

I can still use all 4 to deflate though.
When going down to 26psi I screw the 26's on first on one side of the car and walk around and screw the 18's on the other.
When the side I started on stops I go around and unscrew the 18's It is normally within 1/2 a pound.

Just curious as I have never used one but don't you have to let each tyre down indervidually with the ARB deflator?

Yep, and it's still faster than the Stauns.

The other benefit is that you can change what pressure you drop down to, depending on the conditions. People under-estimate the advantage that the right tyre pressures gain offroad. Probably the biggest difference to "making it" or not.
