ok got on to RoadSafe at Accacia Ridge ( who don't supply the public) and the guy reckoned the two parts were different the TE001L is for the pitman arm and the TE3194HD is for the adjustable track bar,

although looking at the two parts on my jeep i would swear they are the same.

apparently Bursons are a distributor.

they are dramatically cheaper on Rock Auto but then i cant be absolutely sure I'm ordering the right part, so i guess its off the Bursons in the morning

thanks to all for your help

thats ridiculous Bursons want $78.16 and $69.66 (trade) for the two parts

RockAuto have them for $16.61 AUD each plus $25 AUD freight.

guess I'm not in a hurry after all, from the US by 6th Jan suits me

stunned $58 AUD to my door or order them locally for $147.82

thats easy to work out hey

Default parts

Thats a whole can of worms right there.
I'm all for supporting locally and paying a bit more if I got the service and warranty support, trouble is generally I don't. Quite often I can get it quicker from overseas as well as cheaper and they seem to give more of a damn about looking after you. Customer service is all but dead here. The yanks seem to be pretty good at it still.

Just going to get my flame suit on now.

yep im with you, i dont mind paying more either, but three times the price AND still having to order it and pay a deposit, not good.

rock auto by email confirmed order, then confirmed wharehouse packed ready to ship, then updated with a shipping number and i can track its journey.

then knock at the door and its here, now thats service

is it just me or is everyone finding it harder and harder to source common parts for XJ's here is AUS

hey JJ yep always a worry, however i did use the original Jeep Part number and its left hand thread and the thread count and diameter are the same so heres hoping, but for $16.61 AUD I'm prepared to take the risk.

even if i ordered the part locally for $79.00 AUD there was still no guarantees it would be right, only thing is they would have to exchange it.

but as i said for $16 bucks ill take the risk..

thanks for all the input none the less

ok finally got around to fitting the ball joints yesterday, not the easiest of jobs , but the difference is dramatic,

as hoped the ball joint for the pitman arm was the same as for the adjustable track bar, what ever brand bar it was ( i thought it was white line)

so all good no more wandering around, steering feels nice and tight.

ok moving on whats next i wonder, it is a Jeep.
