Default 'Solid Axle Industries' custom XJ D44 rear w/locker - advice call

Howdy all,
found site sponsor "Solid Axle Industries" have special on custom XJ (or TJ/YJ) rear D44 semi-float rear axle with ARB air locker for $2995 ($630 off norm price) - end to end new, with disc brakes (choice of Willwood? or Ford Motorsports system), Timken roller bearings, choice of Precision Gear, Superior or Dana Spicer Ring & Pinions, and choice of axle Alloy USA, Superior, or Dutchman.
http://www.solidaxle.com/ProductCart...=&idproduct=84
Haven't spent a cent on D35 mod-wise as was looking sec/hand D44 build route but to my calculations this is a fantastic offer (ok sh*t ya duds good), no sep labour charges for indiv sourced s/hand bits put together + brand spanky new + has disc brakes to boot! confirmed stock 61 inch width too - plug + play except for air locker setup (I'd rather full Detroit auto - will see if they can do that, as they do Detroits).

My question is, have I missed something, and reckon good deal too (espec for long term)???
And to you mod guru's out there with opinions on which brand axle shaft + ring&pinions would you take from their list/why???
Also, have 31" Claw's & was thinking of 4.56 ratio's, to keep rev's up,less strain for lugging of engine + auto (hilly round me) & room to move up tyre size in future instead of being limited by 4.11. (It's not a daily driver). Opinions.....Pointers....

thanks in advance, Bart

sounds like a fair price to me...I paid around 2.5K in parts to get mine setup from a TJ (ZJ discs, 4.56s, detroit) which I think dont have housings as strong as the Solid make. When I looked into Solid at the time I think they were over 4K, hence the route I took...i thought the price also varied on the options of components...? If you regear, dont forget the cost of setting up the front as well in the budget...

Yeah the solid gear is good. The price of components has come down considerably hense how this is "so cheap" as you say. 4.56 with 31's you will be revving the titties off it on the highway, but will drive like a drag car off fro the lights.

cheers Dan & JimmyB for weighing in - yep, sorting front d30 too, and i'll change the plan to 4.10 ratio's so its titties don't rev off down highway.

That is good value, I would not worry about what brand axles etc they put in, any of them will be good. Ring Danny and have a talk to him about it he is very helpful. is there a reason you want to run the detroit? if it is a streeter as well, I would take the arb. If I rememer? it was only a few hundred difference in the price from them.
