Stability - Fantastic, the long wheelbase makes for a very stable ride.
Power - adequate. Coming out of a V6 diesel the petrol felt sluggish but in saying that it had the power just needed to rev.
Fuel economy - on the freeway from Sydney to Coff's I got 14.6L siting on 103k with cruise control on. At 103 I still had the transmission shifting to 8th gear on downhill grades. At 105 or higher it wouldn't shift above 7th.
On the way home I just set the cruise control to the speed limit (110) and I got 16L.
Yes, not using cruise control will getting about .5L better but I would just rather sit back and let the Jeep do its thing on these sorts of roads where getting fuel is not an issue.
My opinion. The auto needs a tune, it doesn't respond quickly enough and when it does it drops several gears and revs its tits off. Same as when not towing, go to overtake and put your foot down it just drops a heap of gears and revs without really gaining momentum. In manual mode you can get the revs to the sweet spot (about 4000rpm) and feel the acceleration.

Decided on the location of the remote res. And if you start to suffer from a slight shimmy in the steering, (not really a death wobble) check the sway bar links have not come loose.

Mocking up my tub layout.
After fitting the retractable hard to top I'm starting on the inside of the tub.
Fitted 2 molle panels in the rear, RH side for the compressor and hose reel. LH is undecided.
Plan is for 1400 fridge slide on the right and a slide out kitchen on the left.
