If you need a new/replacement vehicle then yes consider it. If you earn decent coin then yes consider it. Have a long hard look at your take home pay after packaging and remember to budget with what's left bearing in mind the length of the package (mine is 48 months).

Novated leasing even with the current rules, works well for me. Get independent financial advice as everyone's situation is different.
X 2 .

Hi A/B,
Ive had Novated leases for last 15ish years, & they work well for me.
Im a Rep on the road, I do a lot of KLM,s, & for the last 7 years I have been at TJM, so yes Im adding heaps N heaps of accessories (for display reasons).
we also fit out heaps of new vehicles for dealerships that are being bought as a Novated lease.
with accessories on a novated lease, its easier to get them on the lease at the time of purchase as it is very hard to get them to pay for it after unless you can get someone to wright it up as servicing or repairs.
Ive currently got a JK with the works, my next tourer will be the Grand larado V6 dsl, Im waiting for the release of our new T17 bull bar first, it will have T17 bar, winch, 3" lift, 33" tyre wheel package, roof racks, foxwing awning, custom rear wheel carrier so I can mod the spare wheel bay for dual batterys, compressors ect & a fridge slide over it, & they will all be added to the lease.
another advantage of Novated Leases is that you can either use the car as a trade or you can buy it for the residual owing.
remember when you enter a lease you are purchasing a car Tax free $$$,
& the company puts in nearly 1/2 of the lease as tax free $ from your wage, so it is really only costing you just over 1/2 as the rest you would never see anyway.
at the end of the lease the car will not be payed out fully, there will be a residual left to pay. This will either be taken out of the trade in on the next rig or you have the option to buy it out-rite & sell it privately & make some coin. eg I bought my last car for the residual of $6k & got twice that amt as a trad-in for my wifes new car & saved heaps.
there are some good Novated lease companies in Briz,
Im currently using a company called Fincar based in sydney, I find their rates good, but compare a few, & dont just lock yourself into 1 straight up, fight them off against each other, tell them what car you want, what color, what accessories, what klm,s (roughly) so they can work out the service plan, fuel amts & tyres & where you need it serviced ect then sit back & let them fight it out for the best deal.
my last Nissan came from Tamworth, as thats who won the tender at the best $$$ threw the lease company.
hope this helps,
you can call me if you want to chat about it to get more info if you want .
cheers Piggy.

Default novated lease!

Novated lease are ok if you use your vehicle for primarily for business, if you mainly use the vehicle for private use you will need to pay fringe benefit tax which will wipe most of the benefits of the notated lease, as piggy said get independent financial advice before getting a novated lease

Default novated lease!

I have just done my first novated lease on a JKU and I work in government as it's one of the few salary sacrifice we are allowed. The mob we have to use allows any accessories/ mods at the time if purchase. It enabled my to get bar, winch, lift, tyres etc. Quite e few people here at work do novated leases and are really happy with the arrangement.
I only use my vehicle for private use.
The key thing is to overestimate the mileage rather than underestimate as that was what all the cost are based on.
It was a good opportunity to see if I wanted a Wrangler for years and so far I'm impressed.

Another benefit is any possible warranty issues the lease company argue's it out with the dealer not you.
I have a rubicon JKU with lift, snorkle, tow bar and bull bar under lease. I have underestimated KM's though so will need to amend the lease I think.

I have mine on a lease as well mowerman and love how everything is paid, I chose to add my own mods over time so I could take the time to choose except for tyres but they wouldn't let me have the size I want.

There's no FBT if you make part of your contributions out of your post-tax salary. Just in the process of organising a lease on a new WK2 with bullbar, longrange fuel tank etc.

That's how ours work we pay post-tax contributions and therefore no FBT.
