2 Door Awning/roof rack set up
Hi guys,
I am looking at installing a roof rack on my 2007 2 door JK. Looking at perhaps going with the Vortex RLT600 Black 2 Bar Rhino-Rack Backbone Roof Rack.
Originally i was going to go for the Pioneer Platform however it doesn't fit 2007 models. Does anyone know why this is?
My question is with the bar system would I still be able to mount an awning? Due to the bars not having a massive amount of space between them will it still provide a stable enough base for a 2x2.5m awning?
Cheers for the help

On my 4 door I have two Rhino racks mounted on the hard top with little distance between them.
I was worried about the same thing and ended up buying a 1.6m x 2.5m awning that would normally be mounted across the rear. This has been a great set up for me.

Cheers Jamie.
I was thinking I may have to scale back to a rear awning size.
Where did you get yours from?

Yes. You'll be able to mount it with 2 bars. I'm mounting a 2.5 awning for my 4dr on 2 bars.

From a mob called outbaxcamping off ebay for $150 delivered.
They were the only ones I found at that length. Everyone else sold 1.4m ones which was a bit shorter than I wanted.
I'm really happy with this one. It does the job and I'm not worried about it swinging in the breeze as it's very secure.
I bought a lengh of LED strip lighting and stuck that on the bar inside the vinyl bag. I've also got a couple of sand pegs as I mainly use it on the beach.
They used to sell walls for it as well but I haven't seen them advertised for a while.
