Oxygen Sensors
The old 97 JGC started coughing and running rough the other day, run OK for about 10 K then start to go rough for abit then come good for awhile, after checking the codes and having a read of the manual, and a browse at this website I decided an oxygen sensor was the problem. Dropped in at REPCO and found they had 2 sensors available one at $150 it was complete with connector but I would have to order and a universal one at $130 which they had in stock, this one does not come with the wiring connector, you have to cut and shut your old one onto it, no problem. The part was an NTK OZA34-C7 ( you need the 4 wire one)and comes with instructions and joiners, though a manual is handy to work out the wiring code. Removing the old sensor is not a great hassle when you have a pit but could be a pain with jack stands. I managed the whole job in about 2.5 hrs only because I stuffed up the connection and had to redo it but the engine runs just so sweet again now. The old connector has the pins numbered on the back but they are very tiny and bloody hard to see. I should replace the other sensor but so far no hassles so leave well enough alone. Wiring code is Pin 1 - B+ (from ASD Relay)
Pin 2 - Heater Gnd
Pin 3 - Sensor Gnd
Pin 4 - Sensor signal
Hope this helps somebody, I hate to think what a dealer would have charged.
