OK so my problems with this have been continuing.

What I have had to do a couple of times is disconnect the battery, wait 5 min then reconnect it and it will work.

I have now added a relay to the system that kills power to the immobiliser module in the door unless the ignition is on (remote still works normally)

Has been stable for a week now, fingers crossed

G'day Gonzo
Me too - it's driving me nuts parking, trying to lock-up - no luck - then jumping into the JGC and parking in a different location, hopefully blocked from the interference causing the problem.
Can you tell me the process you went through installing the relay to overcome the problem. It's getting to the stage where I'm going to do a Basil Fawlty soon and beat the beast with a tree branch if it happens again.
Thanks ... Mark

Spent about 2 hours with a multimeter yes it was a little difficult.

Found a power source in the fuse panel that is only activate when the ignition it on (it was the power source for the aircon fan).
Hooked that up to a relay on the appropriate side.

Found the power cable that goes into the immobiliser module in the door and hooked that up to the other side of the relay.

Now the remote still works like normal (my remote worked, it was the immobiliser that caused problems).
I hit the remote, the door unlocks.
I get in, put the key in and turn it.
When the key gets to the 'on' point, power is restored to the immobiliser and she fires up.

I dont have a great deal of electronice knowledge, but this all seems to make sense in my head

Thanks Gonzo
I'll have a play with it over the weekend. Hopefully I won't be back on the forum with "Has anyone had to replace a melted fuse box?"
Cheers ... Mark
