I've been very happy with the rubber mat. It's fitted perfectly, so I keep it in there all the time. When it gets dirty after a trip, I pull it out and use the pressure washer to clean it.

Cheers,

Pretty happy with it so far. I was using it with the carpet side facing up until the weekend, when I went down to the Cotter (On the Murrumbidgee River) to get some relief from the 42c temperature. It's flexible but very sturdy. I especially like the vinyl flap that hangs over the bumper to prevent clumsy oafs like me doing any damage to the rear bumper's paintwork.

I've got an MY14 4x4 Laredo. Bog stock apart from that Mopar boot liner. I haven't really decided what, if any mods I will do to it in the near future, but have been thinking about roof racks, if nothing else. I can take a photo of the boot liner if you're interested in seeing the difference?

Cheers

Ben

I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to do anything new on the Jeep, but last weekend I stole a bit of time and installed a K&N Cold Air Intake. It was easy to install and only took about an hour from start to finish.

You remove the entire OEM air intake, from the throttle body forward. It comes off with a few bolts and some clips. Then you install the K&N intake with a few hose clamps. Swap over the air intake temperature sensor and crankcase vent tube, and you're done. The fit and finish is very good and K&N provides easy-to-follow instructions.

It's not as good as the stock intake for deep water crossing, but I think you'd go with a snorkel if you plan on doing that.

I've been driving around for 10 days or so now and I'm definitely happy with it. You don't get massive performance gains, but it definitely feels a bit more responsive, especially when the air gets a bit colder at night. It's just as quiet as stock for normal driving, which I like, but when you stomp on it you get a very satisfying growl.

I didn't take any photos of the installation process, but here are a few of it fully installed.

I remember installing one of these on my old 89 Celica. It gave the same slight performance increase and satisfying growl when the TVIS kicked in. Do you know I they make this for the V6?

Taprod,

It looks like they do. They're quoting about 11hp gain for the 3.6L. Unfortunately they've got nothing for the 3.0L diesel. If you're interested, I bought mine from the US and saved heaps.

Cheers,
Bill

Bill, i would be very interested to know how much you saved???? Also..... I have a 2011 model but i had to remove the front recovery hooks to fit my nudge bar. Do you guys have any plans for brackets to accommodate both?

Thanks

BTW very nice car!! I have been following this thread since you started.

Hi nealie,

It was about half price from the US, plus shipping. I think all up I saved around $200.

I've had a few requests for hooks that will fit with the nudge bar. Unfortunately I don't think it's something that can be easily done. W've considered doing a nudge bar of our own, (that would fit with our hooks) but there are many projects ahead of it at this time. I'll keep you posted if we move forward on it.

Cheers,
Bill

Good thinking, focus on a rear wheel carrier first, or an overhead console in the cabin. Can't believe none of the usual suspects don't make these yet, business must be booming if they can afford to ignore this potential market.
