I'd doubt it. Just because it's rated for US JLs it doesn't mean it will be ADR approved here with that bumper.

I'm betting the version AUS get will have the front bumper as seen in these pics, which is in line with what the JK in the US and our JK has already. I don't believe stubby bars will ever be legal, if anything the regulation will get tighter :-/

I think you might be right there.

The funny thing with ADRs is that there isn't anywhere that I've been able to find that states how short the front bar can be, only that the ends must be capped.

The only time it mentions the length of a front bar is that it can't be longer than the vehicle is wide. However it does state that it must conform to the shape of the body of the vehicle. So you can't have a dead straight bar across a vehicle that curves around.

The only place it states that it must be full width is in the State's Code of practice for light vehicles.

Not certain but I think the drama here is that the bumper must be tested and prove
to provide sufficent protection of the driver from injury resulting from steering column displacement. The bumper may well do so, however FCA would struggle to justify running multiple tests when they can just run one.

Doubt we'll see that bumper out here. Just like the JK & TJ, we'll get hideous ends for the stock bumper.

I went with the Rugged Ridge Spartacus front bumper, which give you european/Aus style removable end caps to comply with the ADR's on the road and the flexibility to take them off when wheeling (back bumper replacement next on the list)
