Default am I mad, bought a 2012 JK 220k kms on it!

well it was too cheap at 9K,
all hwy kms, drives perfect, no death wobble, well maintained,
how long should these motors last?
its an unlimited, black like my old 07 rubi,
ARB bar, new nitto grapplers, manual
how can I go wrong?
oh and 3m rego haha,
if it dies it may be the excuse to Hemi swap it...
Cheers Russ...

so it looks like only issues are,
starter doesn't always engage (mechanis says starter, I think ring gear)
has a small stumble when trying to accel full throttle at less than 2000rpm, (suspect crank anglr sensor)
blower fan cuts out after a minute when on full (suspect speed control module)
drive well for a car with those miles

For 9k you left yourself room to fix the bits that aren't working so well on it.

As for the engines, they aren't as bullet-proof as the I6 but they also don't give up the ghost at 200k like clockwork. Maintain it, drive it like you most certainly didn't steal it, and enjoy!

Well, we did almost exactly the same thing 3 odd months ago. Paid almost the same $ but had over 240k on the clock.

I knew the clutch was almost out of life, but the price was too good.

Just replaced leads and plugs and it goes heaps better.

Lots of moolah for mods and maintenance.

UPDATE, Ive done 3k kms now with no drama, replaced the starter as it was not engaging, my fears of ring gear have been alleviated, the teeth on the starter were worn flat and no angle to assist engagement, the hesitation and dropping out of cruise was fixed with a new crank angle sensor, total cost of starter and sensor, $186 AUS shipped from Rock auto haha, bargain, Ive done the LED tails and markers, hoping to put the OME lift in, gumtree bargain $150 with a set of firestone airbags,
still need to fix the blower motor,
Later dudes and dudets.

Sweet JK. The OME lift will be a good upgrade.
