I know a guy that runs a diesel car (old not CRD) on ATF with no problems. A bit of oil in fuel doesnt hurt. Some truck drivers dispose of their sump oil into the fuel tank.
The study shows that there is little if any positive outcomes from adding 2 stroke oil to diesel. If any, there could be negative results for modern diesels.

So to summarise, it has a negligible effect on diesel's ability to lubricate but it has a negative effect on the injectors and the DPF.

Might as well be pouring snake oil in the fuel tank...

I am guessing you are the one who also posted this link in the JK CRD Owners FB group. As I mentioned there, thanks for posting, interesting read.

However I use TCW3, add 220ml into every full tank or so. Does anyone know if there is there a difference between normal 2 stoke oil (as tested in the article) and TCW3?

Actually no.... but read it.

And TCW3 contains significant Zinc - which was identified as a problem so on the surface of it its no better.

The lack of Zinc in the new generation oils is being blamed for bottom end failures, but is required for dpf longevity

Sometimes you have to wonder if the anti-pollution actually runs in the positive

Diesel vehicles are going to be phased out in many Euro countries.If anybody has been to Europe in the last couple of years,the diesel vehicle pollution in some cities is on par with China.
The nano particles are now considered more dangerous than the old style diesel engine emissions.Also people buying diesel passenger vehicles for around town use do not realize that the DPFs /etc cannot cope with short runs.Expensive repairs then arise.Note also the blocked inlet manifold problems in many brands of SUVs etc.
Obviously VW,Chrysler etc could not get some of their vehicle emissions down to the correct Euro/US levels. !!!
