Default Diesel KJ Renegade

Fellow Jeepers,

I was thinking about buying another Jeep...more precisely a KJ Renegade.

The local dealership told me that the KJ Renegade now comes with an Auto/Diesel combo.

Any thoughts on Cherokee diesels and how they are off road.

Price quoted was around 52K for the Auto option.

Cheers

The mags always say that a auto behind a diesel is a good combo and even better that behind a petrol due to the better compression for down hill work!

The word from Fletch at Nunawading Jeep on the new diesel/auto is "SENSATIONAL" as far as performance goes...and he owns an XJ diesel himself. He drove it last week and was very impressed. Power from low revs is far better than the old 2.5 which needs a lot of winding up to perform...especially on road.
The really good combo coming up may be the diesel/auto Grand Laredo...if you can't get excited about KJ!

The KJ Diesel is great. I drove one for a few hours last year in a manual. Fantastic. One can't tell it's a diesel. They have 4.11 gears as you would expect from a diesel. I liked it. Experienced it off road at Jeep Unpaved and have nothing but praise for it.

Had a drive of KJ diesel 2.8 auto this week! really good. the torque starts a bit lower than the 2.5 manual. it overtakes well and is very smooth...hope to take one off road in the next cople of weeks.
