UHF is useless in remote areas. HF is the go. Sat phone even better.
A few rolls of insulation tape is smart. You can always tape up a damaged hose to get you on the move to the next big town. A cartridge of silicone is good for repairing a damaged radiator. A lump of soap will plug a hole in a petrol tank. Spare fluids is important ~ brake fluid, coolant, trans & engine oil. Tie wire & zip ties are useful if something is loose & trying to fall off.
Make sure you loosen & re-tighten all when nuts before the trip. That way should you get a flat, you will know that you can get the nuts undone. One of those u-fixit windscreen repair things is handy, it lets you fix a small crack before it grows overnight.
You are brave taking a brand new one on your trip. Maybe the drive to QLD will be enough to get the bugs out. make sure you lift the bonnet each time you fill up & have a good look for problems.
A list of every good Jeep mechanic along the route maybe handy.
Good Luck !
