Default TJM Rocksliders - Would you recommend?

Currenty researching rocksliders and come across some cheap TJM Rocksliders.

Can anyone give any advice weather these are decent sliders?

I want something which offers proper protection, these are frame mounted which is a good start, I see some which just mount to the body which seems ridiculous.

Also, are these ok to be used as a step to climb in? I never use the plastic side steps but the wife and kids do, so needs to be able to be used for that.

Thanks for any advise.

Here is the sliders in question:

I've got them and am reasonably happy with them. The drivers side fit perfectly but the passenger side took a bit of mucking around. Had to open up one of the holes as it was a bit off and a couple of other little tweaks.
The rear mount on the passenger side hangs a little low which I don't like but hasn't been an issue yet and the powdercoating had a couple of minor blemishes. I plan on scratching them so I'm not that worried. They are very strong and have already taken a few good hits without bending or moving and I'd feel confident using a hi lift jack with them.

They will work as a step but they only stick out about 70mm from the body so it's not really a proper step.

I have mate with a patrol bend them lots. Also another mate has them on a hilux.

They are quite thin steel and I reckon the quality is a fair bit behind arb.

There are a couple of heavy duty options such as uneek.

Are you wanting a little bit of protection or are you rock crawling and intending to put half your cars weight on them?

Like me, you need them to be a step as well for passengers (I also have roof racks so need a step to tie things down) which is why I haven't bought these ones. It's been tempting as they are going cheap on ebay at the moment.

Have a look at the ones Blackjack Welding offer. They are good quality, tough and have a decent surface area to use as a step for the missus.

Thanks for the replies.

I ended up buying them last night, just couldn't pass them up at $299 on ebay.

It's mostly for a "little bit" of protection, i'm not doing anything too extreme, just something that adds more protection than nothing at all, or the plastic steps.
