Default Tyres

Ok
The time has come for a new set of boots,
I have been running 285x70r17 Pirelli Scorpions on my stock rims,
They have been a good tyre other than being hard to keep in balance,
I drive predominantly on road other than when on holidays camping with the childerbeasts, but do occasionally go Offroad and on the beach.
I don't want a muddy and do want something that is quiet and wears well but that can take a flogging.
My preference is Bf Goodrich AT2 however I'm open to any suggestions and prepared to look outside the box.
My scorpions have done 75,000 and travelled to some pretty remote and difficult spots without 1 puncture.
If they kept their balance I would buy em again.

Seriously considered G/Y Duratracs but when getting pricing found the bfgs to be cheaper by a good bit

There is a guy on Facebook in one of the Aussie JK pages selling a set of Rubicon take-offs .... wheels and tyres in 255/75x17 with only 2000k's on them, for $1000.
You couldn't go wrong with them.

That's very expensive unless they are actually bfg km1 which I highly doubt.

I could be wrong but 255 75 17 hasn't be supplied oem in Australia for a few years. The tyres will be old.

It's not hard to find almost new 245 75 17 with wheels x5 for under $500.

I think you are confused.
Km2 is mud terrain and isn't a new pattern.
I believe new all terrain is ko2.

Yes duratracs are expensive. They do have a pretty good reputation...

Definitely check out the Kelly Safari TSR, recently put a set on and very happy thus far for low $300s each in 285/70R17. Consider them a poor man's duratrac

Yeah, thought that odd myself.....I figured either they were getting a old (I bought my ex Rubi 255/75's the same way and have had no issues due to age), or he misquoted the size.....or I wondered if Jeep had switched back to that size for the Rubi?
I figure the Rubi wheels go for $500 a set easy, that leaves a full set of almost new A/T tyres for $500....when the retail on the Silent Armor's would be almost $2500.
