Just finished pulling the EGR off and drilling a few holes in the Blanking Plates I put in, and refitting the EGR.

Well no more Fault Codes or CEL, but noticed that the car is not as responsive as it was when the EGR was completely blocked. But apart from that it seems to be running okay, will see how it goes over the next few weeks.

Way too much stuffing around for me, if I was going to sort mine I would just get a flash job done think in the mean time the catch can will do the job but if my EGR cooler plays up it will be WAR..

Things have changed now with the influx of SUV's and dual cab utes as the preferred family car. The authorities have picked up on the aftermarket removal of DPF's and are now policing it. Have heard of the DPF having a pipe knocked through it. Just like they did on petrol cats. This way the DPF is in place so roadside inspection would pass. Doubt it would pass the sniffer though.
How do you like the WestECU tune? Did you upgrade the exhaust at all?

Nothing wrong with the Murchison's generic tune and if the DPF is fine, then no real reason to spend and stuff around with this removal if your just going into a basic tune vs spend on a whole kit upgrade. The EGR can then be blanked and blank coolant lines as well to eliminate. I'm 28k on this tune pulling 3.3t van. how much power do you need? I mainly did this way just to get rid of the EGR fouling intake as the jeep is powerful enough. It just takes a very good engine better. You do need a catch can as recommended given the blow back does increase.
