have to ask would these mods prevent getting a roadworthy if trying to move the vehicle on at a later date?

Removing the EGR I doubt they would notice if given a roadworthy but removing the DPF would be sure to be noticed once they had it on the hoist or put it on the sniffer....Interference with pollution rubbish is vorbotten... I'm very interested in EGR removal as I have always looked at it as an engine killer, shut it down on my WG and always had it in mind to get rid of the cooler but it was such a bastard to get to and this one is as well.


That Murchison remap is so tempting, shame they want money for it, I don't have any.

I agree about the DPF - however, its extremely temping to get rid of it at the same time as they only cause issues.

Normally, I simply sell with the original parts so they can go back on if the buyer wants to.

The thing is with the amount of WK2's on the road it doesn't really seem like a big issue with DPF, never met anyone myself but the stories all seem to be city doodlers, I know that will start a few up but the issue seems to be common on DPF fitted vehicles, AddBlue isn't any better either............
If you remove the DPF it does run out a few dollars and the thing is you will have to pay those same dollars maybe more to put it back to original..... I look at it if I wanted to spend those dollars changing all this stuff I would have bought a nice V8 petrol.....
I also think about all these folk blurting out on social media how they pull the DPF off and other changes, one day when you least expect it the Transport fellas will have a roadside and put the sniffer on, then you are done and dusted, big fine and vehicle on tow truck ........... When ever the Shaker is around the Sniffer could be used as well...... Just look at the dopey footballers for example.

Agree the above about it being a gamble removing the DPF and most issues stem from stop/start driving. I have removed the DPF on my last 3 cars with less than 100km on clock new. I had to take one of the amaroks into VW for a warranty and the service manager even commented on how much trouble they have with them and that my delete pipe was the best one he had seen.

The fact of the matter is it takes about half hour to remove/replace the DPF as there is one slip joint and one v band style clamp,unplug sensors and hoses done. Most tuners will save your factory map and will happily reflash if required, so returning to stock is not big dollars or time.

I personally remove it all including EGR as they do kill you engine long term and I am happy to take the risk but I also like to mod my cars and removing the DPF helps to add to the efficiencies and performances gained from an ecu remap.

Anything over a Grand is a big lot of $$$ for this fella, thats why the remap is just a dream..........................in fact I have to save up to buy my bulk box of filters and oil....
