Anyone sourced parts for this upgrade recently? I contacted a wrecker on marketplace with a 2018 GC who wanted $800 for the screen and USB a month or two back who wouldnt budge on price.

Im keen to do the upgrade but not $800 keen

Just the thought of digging into the dash fills me with dread, I just bluetooth my Slim Dusty music from my phone and use a Navman for map navigation, easy updates but then I use paper maps to find my way and the Navman to tell me how far to next town, I don't trust the buggas.......... Can buy a lot of diesel for $800...

Anyone actually fitted a 2018 head unit into a 2014 model?
Trying to confirm if i actually need the wiring loom to make heated seats etc work.
Ive found a 2018 compass with a 8.4 unit in it but wondering if it will all work before buying it!!

interestingly found a post on the jeepgarage.com (2014 uav upgrage) site where a guy upgraded his 2014 jeep gc 8.4 head unit to a newer 8.4 uav unit.
Appears he got the hvac controls (heater etc) working by tapping the wiring into the hvac wires but ecerything else worked
This may fix the issue of the 2014 heat seats and steering requiring the infotainment wiring loom at $200 to work with the 2014 gc.
Only issue he had was when he switched off the car the radio would not restarted unless he pulled the power to the unit.
May have been he did not have the constant power and the switched power hooked up right ??
