basically it is cranking but not starting. and when the engine stalled i noticed even when the engine was off and not running the tacko showed the engine was still 800rpm then after that point no start from that point foward no matter how much you turn it over.

Sounds like crank angle, also could be computer, however it probably wouldn't turn over.

I had a problem with my ZJ starting which was somehow related to my power windows, try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so and then try and start it.

I put a switch inline to the main power to my drivers window control which acted like disconnecting the battery, I think it had something to do with the immobiliser, I bought another control panel with the same results. There is also some sensors in the doors that have some stuff to do with the immobiliser as well, however as far as I could tell mine were in working condition.
Although all that I just mentioned would probably yield a no turnover not a no start.

Does your windows wind up and down from the main control at the moment?

Do you have fuel pressure (there is a check valve on the injector rail) hit the key a few times but don't crank then press on the little valve (looks like an oversized tire valve), it should spray not dribble.

And check spark, pull a plug, ground it and see if it's sparking when cranking.

If you have all the above might need to check injector pulse, you can get a diode from eBay fairly cheap, however maybe spay a bunch of start ya bastard into the inlet and while someone sprays crank, if she fires and when they stop spraying it dies it's probably fuel related.

Also I wouldn't take what the gauges said into consideration, the cluster in the ZJs are unreliable at best.

Actually funny thing is about two weeks ago the drivers side control panel stopped working completely to my annoyance. i can no longer lock or unlock the driver side door with the fob yet the others will unlock and i can not wind down any window from the driver side panel, but they will wind from there own switches. also the power windows don't work from the same switch cluster.

Could this happen this long after that switch cluster falling over?
