Default Diesel auto Petrol auto - same ???

I'm about to do a Rubi transfer case swap into my CRD

I have a 2012 CRD and a 2016 Rubicon

Has anyone done this?
Do I HAVE to swap the autos as well ? ( I've heard the the shaft is different???

TIA guys

The auto's are completely different... and as both are electronically controlled ( using different electronics and programming ) an auto swap would IMHO be a difficult task.

And whilst i can't remember the exact details there are differences in the transfer input shaft on later models, so caution is advised. Its actually not that much of a job to pull the TCase so you could just suck it and see without a great commitment or cost.

On the early versions the rubi case was a straight bolt on interchangeable fit but when Jeep changed IIRC from NP to NV cases things got different.

Ok, I suppose that makes sense, well looks like I'll just have to pull them both out and see,

Hmmmmm would that mean that the petrol is geared lower, as in good for crawling lower if mounted behind the squeezel? [emoji48]

My 3.6 revs at about 2.2k @100km/h. Auto stock size tyre. 3.73 diff.
