mate gle d has a kj ckerokee, a different engine. the jk diesel has no egr pipe. the egr gases are routed from the exhaust maniold through an internal route in the rear of the head, into the rear of the inlet manifold. i can assure you this is correct as i ihave checked it on my engine. if you hear a sound of escaping air, first check the turbo hose clamps, on both hoses (the one from the turbo to the intercooler and the one from the intercooler to the inlet manifold). if they are working the chances are you have a hole or split in one of those hoses. start engine and then have a look, feel and listen to the hoses while the enigine is running and try to find the air leak. there have been a few of these blow as the original hoses were not good quality. a new set of original hoses is about $800. if it's not there you'll have to give a bit more information to help the guys trouble shoot it for you.
