I've purchased a brand new bosch fuel regulator from dieseltech as that's what I thought you were all talking about. I had previously taken it off the back of fuel rail to inspect the o-ring on it so I'm familiar with how to replace it when the new part gets here. I'll post results.

So I installed the new Bosch fuel pressure regulator on the back of the fuel rail and the car goes so well but still stalls under full load.

The day before I went to install the new regulator there was a leak from the back of the high pressure fuel pump on the front of the motor. The car hasn't even travelled 1,000kms since I put a new seal kit through the pump but the kit didn't include the main shaft seals so I'm guessing that's where it's leaking?

Do you think this very minor weep could be the cause of the low fuel rail pressure fault code and the subsequent stalling problem?

There must be another problem, maybe the pump can't supply the fuel pressure.

If it was leaking from the rear seal I'd expect this fuel would end up in the sump. Do you replace the 6 small orings on the 3 riser pipes going to the 3 caps of the pump? These are usually the source of the leaks.

Possibly, I reckon the pump can't supply the required pressure.

Yeah I replaced all the o rings in the cap ends of the pump and the green o rings on the back of the pump.

I'm probably going to source a fully remanufactured pump that's had the main shaft sorted. I can't afford a brand new pump at $1,900.

Where did you get the $1,900 price from, Jeep?

A number of years back I bought a new pump from MB for $467, I'd expect they are a little more expensive today, but not that much more.

Pumps do have a life, so it will probably make a difference.

That was just on eBay but I'll definitely try anywhere that will get it under a $1,000 for a brand new (Not remanufactured) one.
