If you cook up it won't be because of that, anyway I actually had a look and it seems like 40amp relay is about it nowadays....

Narva p/n is 68028BL. It's a 40amp 5 pin (standard) with resistor.

I see they have a 70amp 4 pin job........... I don't know if a heat sink on a plastic relay would actually disperse the heat enough as I think it would be the coil doing the cooking, well by my way of thinking, a tin relay would do the trick of transferring heat to a sink better............... I wonder if the set up for this relay instead of being on all the time whether it is cycling due to demand by the ECU seeing fuel rail pressure or HP pump demand sort of thing, that would certainly give a relay a flogging I reckon...

I'm a master at it, stuff I thought lost is often just misplaced, even in the garage. Trouble I have these days is having a clean up then can't remember where I've put things

So what's the difference between a 'standard with resistor' and an 'always open' relay? Narva makes both options but I've always gone for the standard.

I can't believe how a bloody fuel pump relay needs such a high 70 amperage relay, especially if all that current ends up going through a 10-15 amp fuse, that has got to be a recipe for an under bonnet fire if things go to shit, there's got to be more to it, it's like somewhere along the line something is causing a huge resistance and causing the Relay to Flutter and Burn the contact points, from what I,ve seen the fuel pump relay is actually integrated internally to the underside of the TIPM,needs pulling out and sorted out rather than just masking the problem
