Default Replacement wheels

I know this has been covered but...I can't seem to get the answer I'm after.
Looking at getting a 2nd set of steel wheels 8" wide for WJ.
The only size I can find are 17 x8 with 4.75" Backspace, which I think it too small but happy to listen to experiences.
What B/S have people chosen with and did they have 16 or 17" wheels.
I prefer steel as they seem cheaper
Any comments welcome

Im running 16x8 with 4.5" BS which gives wider stance & with 285 wide tyre only sticks out a little.
16" tyres are a lot cheaper than 17"s.
It all depends on tyre width your gunna run & weather you mind tyres sticking out past gaurds at all.

Turbomart
Would you please tell me what profile size tyre you're running? and could you post an image so I can see how far they stick out.
If a 16" is a better choice/cheaper, then that's good as I think there are steel wheels with 4.75 and 5" backspace available. I dont think I would run wider than 285. The 5" one sounds good to me.

Ive put flexi flares on just to keep the cops happy but it really only sticks out the smallest amount, probably about 10mm.

So turbomart
Based on yr tyre setup would you say 16" with 4.75 or 5" backspace would be a good choice? Or would I get problems any further advice?
Thanks for answering my questions too!!

also have used factory jk wheels on wj,s with 265/70/17 and
you can get the wheels for cheap and tyre prices are not too bad depending
what brand and size you choose .
