Hey Alex was planning the same mod with similar cup holders (I think, plastic version). Do these sort of protrude through the base of the center console lid?

The missus is sick of being the cup holder....

They do protrude a bit. I guess its a trade off. Below is the link to the ones i got and the dimensions. They are a great size.

Well,i have had to pack the XJ away for a while due to work commitments. In 3 weeks i will have a break, so i will book it in for inspection. I am not expecting any major hassles, but you never know with pit inspections in WA.
I will keep you updated with progress as it comes along.
In the mean time, i have a bunch of parts ordered for my WJ V8 as it is falling apart...

Cheers,

Well, i have a bit of a break from work so time to get stuck back into this project.
Will ring up and book the old girl for inspection tomorrow. I have also purchased a 48" Hi lift jack and mounting kit, and a Kings 2m x 2.5m awning. So next items on the punch list are fitting these accessories and hopefully getting her licensed.

Cheers,

Fitted the hi lift jack this morning. Worth getting it with the mounting kit. I got this one with the mounting kit for $125 delivered. It is solid, looks the part, and may help get me out of a jam in the future. Fitted perfectly on the ARB style roof rack and took all of 20 minutes to install.

Cheers,

I have booked the XJ in for it's pit inspection next Tuesday up in town. This will give me a chance on Monday to check it all over, clean it all up, and prep it for the big day. Hopefully she will be back on the road soon.......

The awning came in the post yesterday, so i fitted it up in the late arvo. This one is the Kings 2 x 2.5 awning. Fitted easily and should come in handy over summer.

Cheers,
