Default repair ARB bar scrape

A bollard ran into me just now and has transferred some paint and given a bit of a scratch to my bullbar, any ideas what I should use to remove the paint? Do I need to touch up the scratch to avoid rusting like a regular panel? I don't think it penetrated all the way through the texture coat.

Has is scratched to the metal?
Try some 2000 grit paper to take the new paint off and 4000 to smooth it out and cut and polish. If its to metal or primer you will need to paint it

Maybe safest to get it repaired with your insurance.

Not heavily scratched, was pretty light contact against a smooth bollard, didn't see it reversing and swing the nose up against it. Think just the friction pulled the paint across, once I can get that paint off I'll be able to see clearly if I've cut through anywhere but not expecting much more than a rock chip. Was going to try turps but not sure if that'll mess up the finish on the bar and if there might be a light solvent more suitable?

Try turps or if you've got it wax and grease remover.. Anything harsher like lacquer thinners might harm your bull bar finish. Try polishing the paint off and If it's scratched to steel clean with solvent again and touch it up with a cotton tip or fine brush. Don't spray the area with touch up paint unless you really have to it will deteriorate quickly and look like crap.

Phew. Eucalyptus and a rag got it off with a minimal amount of effort, havn't copped any major scratching or anything. There is a very small nick on the edge which looks like its gone through to steel, I guess sand and touch up with matte engine paint?

Lucky. Yep may as well touch the edge up so it doesn't rust. We've made various products at work that have sometimes needed to be touched up between powder coating and dispatch. No drama. Least it's only a bull bar and not the front corner of your Jeep
