Check out my Ride(s)
Default TJ Rear Storage

This isn't going to be the most amazing rear storage unit, but considering I bought my first circular saw today, my aim is to show that even computer nerds can get into fabricating bits for their Jeep.

The idea with this storage is to start with a basic platform for the fridge plus an area for storage boxes and a top level for clothing etc.

I took some dimensions and started out by quickly sketching up what I wanted in Sketch Up, from Google.

I then took to a piece of 2400 x 1200 15mm Plywood with a pencil and tape measure to plot out the cut lines and then cut the panels with the circular saw.

On the above shot you can see that I still need to cut a notch out of the right panel to make room for the break light connection.

As you can see I've extended base to make use of the small gap behind the front seats. You'll notice the cut out at the back to cater for the cup holders. I plan to put the waeco battery pack behind the fridge now that there is some space and a solid mounting point.

I'm reasonably happy with my first days fabbing and am looking forward to next weekend so I can get it to the next stage.

Next stage is to look at some mounting holes and some tie down points, followed by some carpet, then some storage boxes.
