I'm in a dilemma,
My hubby really has the shits with this car and wants me to get rid of it. Mostly I think because when he picked it up from having the gear shift PCB fixed it broke down 2kms from the workshop. They forgot to put some wire back on.
It's a really handy vehicle for my lifestyle and I still enjoy driving it........when it goes.
It does make me a little nervous when I start it each day though
My theory is that so much money has been spent on it surely there's not much left to go wrong lol.
It's well maintained, serviced every 5000k's and I only do about 10000ks a year. Mostly stop start driving. The body and interior are still great. Diffs, gear box fluid, fuel filter etc all changed regularly.
In the last 40000ks this is what's been replaced/ repaired.
New injectors, (ouch $) water pump, belt, shocks, tie rods, alternator, starter motor, rotors, steering dampner, power steering hoses, more injector seals ugghh. Window mechanisms x 3.
Rebuilt power steering pump, steering box, diesel pump.
What needs doing
Drivers seat no longer goes up or down, 1 more window to do, heater doesn't work.
Think it needs new front end rubbers, possible track bar. I'm sus on the MAF sensor and it occasionally surges at idle until it warms up.
What else do I have to watch out for
To sell it or not, I'm taking votes.
