Default trailer brake

Hi first time user so forgive my ignorance, I have just brought a 2016 KL Cherokee 3.2 petrol and need to fit a redarc brake controller from my previous car.
The Cherokee has a Mopar tow kit fitted, but my problem is how do I access through the firewall to run the wiring ,can't seem to see any grommets in the inside firewall. Very little room between the engine & firewall. Any help would be appreciated thanks Bruce. PS finding somewhere to put the controller is something I'll have to work on

I found the large grommet on the passenger side (about 100mm total with main loom in the middle) that I pushed a spike though halfway between the loom and the edge and pushed the wiring through (I pushed the brake wiring, + & - 50amp for trailer, uhf antenna cables, power for uhf etc.). For the brake pedal sense though I ran a second cable to back and used the tail light as a trigger. This way when it auto brakes so does the trailer.

Also, check through the manual for how to change the rear compartment 12v aaccessory outlet for permanent power. Reason for that is the relay block used to drive the trailer lights is powered from the same circuit. With it set to the default ignition only, hazard and park lights on the trailer won't work without ignition on which is not legal and dangerous. I had to tell the Dealership wjat the problem was and how to fix it, they told head office and they basically said they didn't care.

Also curious as I'm about to migrate the brake controller from my XJ.
