Default WJ front bar mounting points CAD drawings

This is a big ask I am sure,

I've searched the forums and googled the shit out of it without any luck.

I am looking to design and fabricate a neat, stubby front bar for the WJ, I have an idea in my head and want to get to work, I was wondering if anyone had some CAD drawings of the mounting points (or even for another front bar that I can edit) to get me started. Happy to share my drawings once I've finished (if u like the look of course).

Cheers.

I think you'd be lucky to find anyone willing to give up their CAD drawings for nix. What program are you looking to use? Mate of mine in the US uses Inventor and can pretty much document anything. I was wondering if the Sketchup 3D Warehouse would have something?

Actually just remembered. Look up www.flatland4x4.com and they will sell you them in .dwg format for around $35USD.

Having just purchased a WG I'd be interested to see what you come up with. The rear bar interests me as it is needed if you wish to increase tyre size and/or install a rear storage system.

Ye, I just downloaded scetchup, had a look at flatland too, if I can't find one on sketchup I'll buy it, I just need the internals, I'm not interested in anyone else's design, I've only ever seen one bumper for the WJ that I liked, the rest are not my taste, at all!!

I'll keep you posted with any progress on this thread.

Cheers mate.

I was thinking with the Flatland option that you're essentially paying the money to get the measurements, then you do with them what you want. But at least you'd know that the general dimensions are right.

I just looked at Sketchup 3D Warehouse and nothing of note re' a WJ bull bar.

Which was the only WJ bumper you liked? And is SketchUp your only CAD option? I can use Revit but doubt it would be any good for a project like this. I'm also a pretty good SketchUp user. Make sure you group all the individual elements and put them on different layers.

sketchup is not a very good modelling program, its mostly for house design and layout from what i have seen, and any models you find on the warehouse aren't very accurate to begin with as they are often only designed for games, basically they have a very low poly count compared to programs like CAD.
