Same issue as Jimmy, the ARB bars are designed for roller fairleads, which are held in place by 4 bolts that go straight through the bar to the holes that hold the winch to the bar. The hawse fairleads have 2 bolts that sit in the middle that would hit the winch if you drilled new holes in the bar.
The alternative would be to fab up a bracket as Jimmy did, which IMO looks much cleaner.

Grade 5 is for SAE and 8.8 is for metric. Same thing. Grade 5 bolts are fine. No need to spend money unnecessarily.

Possible way to fix the problem with the hawse bolts hitting the winch is to drill and countersink the 2 holes for the hawse from the inside of the bar and use countersunk allen head bolts and fit your hawse before the winch, in my case i have 10 mm thick steel that i had tapped to fit my hawse.

The adapter you have used does look neat though, although as you say welding the studs in sits everything back a tad cleaner.

Hey all, I have the same bar as Dissociative, (ARB) and I'm also going to pick up one of these winches. I just have a couple of questions, hoping people from this thread can assist, even though it goes back a little while.
1) Do I have to take the bar off to mount the winch? (probably yes)
2) If I use the standard roller style fairlead, will this just slot in? I don't want to drill any holes in the bar if I can avoid it and I don't have a problem with the way the roller fairleads look.
3) Is the cabling/wiring incredibly complicated? How would you rate on a scale of 1-10, 10 being "do NOT try this at home".

Rope doesn't really work with roller fairleads......so if you want the rollers, order the winch with cable.
Wiring isn't difficult, the annoying part I found was the cabling was "just" that much too short if running direct to the battery (given a JK's battery location). Mine worked out OK as I've added a solenoid on the power cable under the hood.
