If you look at any SAE chart you will see why we should be looking more at the 5W40 than the recommended 5W30. In summer my garage is regularly in the 40's, and mid 30's days are common.

Been using Penrite Enviro 5w40 for 5 years in my MY14, no problems other than explaining to the dealer at service time why I request them to use it. I usually wait til Supercheap or Autobarn have a sale and buy a 10 litre pack and keep it in the shed til service time.

I take it your MY14 must be a 2013 Build and delivered?
I thought the enviro + was only a couple of years old, the MSDS says Oct 16. I've been known to be wrong though

I'm using Castrol Magnatec DX5W40 which has a SAPS of 0.8%.

Interestingly, the stealer is using Castrol Magnatec Professional.

They are both low saps, fully synthetic, so not a problem.

Super cheap auto have got Castro Magnatec DX5-40 on sale for $73.49 so I'll get some and change the oil. Any tips for first timer? The old WH with the MB engine had to put half the oil down the filter housing, and letting the oil out of the sump was very messy. Is the WK straightforward? I haven't even figured out how to take the engine cover off yet!
