Default Trailer Brakes fitment

Done a search, can't find anything to answer this one:

When Mechanical override brakes are fitted, should the actuator arm be at the top or the bottom?

I've read somewhere (but can't remember where ) that the arm should be at the bottom.

Anyone care to stick their head under their trailer and post back where yours is? Top or bottom?

Pics would be a bonus...

Thanks Mark,

Trying to work out why brakes don't seem to be releasing fully...

Drums. Taken the trailer back twice already - first time they replaced the backing plate and the shoes on one side 'cause one of the shoes had disintegrated after 500km. Second time they couldn't find anything wrong.

Brakes make a hell of a noise at low speed (<60km/h), but not all the time. Seems to be only after they've warmed up.
