Default 2012 Rubicon - brake parts?

Hi All,

I'm looking at replacing the rotors and pads on my 2012 JK. The problem seems to be that my one has 332mm rotors in the front, which nobody seems to carry locally here in NZ. Looking at some websites in US, they are extremely rare as well. Any ideas? I'm happy to import them, have done that for a lot of TJ things in the past.

I even found part numbers on DBA catalogue. DBA 2630 for front and DBA 2537 for rear. Even BNT can't seem to find them available.

Any recommendations for good brake pads all around? I was looking at Bendix, they recommend DB2002 and DB2003.

Cheers

You wont have a lot of luck importing from the US as they still use the 302mm discs - export models went to the 332mm in late 2009. Mines a 2010 and has the larger discs but at 116,000km I am still on the original front pads and discs so cant help you there! Rears I replaced at about 40,000km due to not realising the ESP system in sand and mud would rip them to pieces if it wasn't disabled so ordered a set of Hawk pads for the rear.

I'm not quite sure what your asking here....... If you need 'export" spec disks just contact one of the many Jeep Specialists in Australia... I'm sure they will have no issues sending you a set.

I'm currently running Hawk pads, more because that was what my supplier had in stock than for any other reason. Once again, just ask one of the AU based suppliers and i'm sure they will be able to assist.

Surprises me that you are having a problem, even over there. It's only a canoe ride away.
When I needed pads, I walked into the nearest corner auto parts store and was given a choice of 3 types to suit.
I decided on the Bendix DB2002/4WD Blue Titanium Stripe with Hybrid Fusion Technology. ......
Can't imagine disks being a much bigger problem, there are several types cataloged over here from various outlets.

Thanks for the response, but the sad part is that Repco / SPA / BNT / and a few other suppliers can't seem to find the front rotors suitable for a 2012 JK with 332mm rotors. US rotors are 302mm, which is what most are listing for mine as well.

But I show them physically that front rotors are definitely larger than rear ones (316mm), I get sorry can't source them from supplier.

A lot of the Aussie suppliers don't necessarily ship heavy parts overseas. Brake pads are not an issue, I can get them from US easily. Cheaper than NZ any day.

I'll keep seraching, perhaps through UK supplier. Hmmm.

Seriously, I'd try all the Aussie suppliers.....SBR, DBOR, Trax, Murchisons....there are multiple others. If they'll ship inside Aust, I'm sure someone will ship to you in NZ.

Have you tried www.4wd1.com as Kirk has a JK himself, they carry parts and upgrades for many fourbys.
