Jeep Wrangler - In the Top 7 List of vehicles you should not buy.
For yet another year in a row featuring along side the Chevrolet Aveo (Holden Barina/Daewoo Kalos), GMC/Chevy Colorado (Holden Colorado/Isuzu D-Max) and Chrysler Sebring the Jeep Wrangler has one yet ANOTHER award.
Quote:
Consumer Reports gave the Wrangler only 17 out of 100 points overall (anything above 70 is considered a "good" score) and criticized its ride, handling, braking, noise, fuel economy, fit and finish, visibility, front-seat comfort and access. The SUV received a less-than-glowing assessment: "We expect reliability to be worse than average, according to our latest subscriber survey," the Yonkers, N.Y.-based agency said. |
Keep up the good work Chrysler.

They called it an SUV... Thats why it scored so low. Call it what it is, an off road vehicle that can be (most of the times) legally road registered and its a whole different ball game!

I don't give a shit what those idiots think. Mine is comfortable, reasonably economical (13 round town, down to 10 on the highway!(v6)), the engine is quieter than our previous car(Hyundai). It handles like a truck, but that's the compromise we make for it's capabilities

Exactly, let's compare apples with apples. I seem to remember the dmax being either 4x4 of the year or 4x4 ute of the year or something. I don't think anyone buys a wrangler for a luxury cruiser.
What a load of subjective bollocks.

Oh Oh!
If I own a Jeep and a Daewoo Kalos, am I in for a rough time?
Our little Kalos has been a cheap run around for 5 years, bought from new, and absolutely no issues with it other than normal service.
Hopefully when I get the Jeep back, it will be the same, but I didn't buy it to be a car - I bought it because it is a Jeep!

Wow...
Sure Wranglers a little rough onroad, their fuel economy is questionable and it's never gonna have the finish quality of a Merc.
But anyone who buys a Wrangler knows this and they DON'T CARE. We buy the Wrangler because of it's character, it's heritage and it's go-anywhere-ability (and thats just in stock form).
It's arguably the most recognisable 4x4...no vehicle...on the road and that's why it remains popular...
