Default KJ 2.8CRD.Engine stopping after 20 secs

Hi all
I am experiencing a problem which has occured a couple of times.
Engine starts and runs normally for 20 to 30 seconds then just stops. No vibration or engine malfunction light on. Just stops and refuses to start when cranking engine. I have found by waiting a minute then cranking the engine and pumping the manual hand prime pump ontop of filter engine will start and run normally for a few days then do it again.
Anyone had this problem or theories on why it is occuring.
Cheers
Peter

Possible leak in the fuel head. Do u have the updated version or the stock one? If you unplugg the right plug is there fuel??

If there is no leak in fuel i would consider installing the fuel pump and wiring harness vs updating the head. I updated the head and it didnt help me but i never got stalling but really poor runing engine.

Pic below of the updated version.

What year and how many KS have you done?

At that many kms have you changed the fuel filter?? If not that's your first step as I could be super clogged. It's also due for its timing belt and water pump and pulleys etc if not yet done which you need to do asap.

Well I would start with air in the fuel so check for leaks etc. I don't know if 2007 models have an in tank pump but 2006 models sure didn't. I don't think there would be if yo u have to prime the system by Hand. The benefits of having a pump in is that you will not need to bleed the system ever again and you will find any leaks if you have any as you will have positive pressure. Its a relative cheap mod and super super easy to do!

If your not interest in that then make sure you have the upgraded fuel filter head.

If that does not fix your problem then sensors would be your next thing to replace like cam fuel pressure etc due to age..

If all that is poo then test injectors for leaks etc

Undrgnd,
I am interested in the "fuel pump and wiring harness" that you mention.
