Default navus gps removal questions

I'm not sure if this deserves it's own thread but has anyone had a go at removing the navus gps unit from on top of the dash.
The touchscreen on mine is knackered and its stuck in the past like my taste in music so i was going to pull it and convert the housing its in to a phone holder and charging station, or possibly down the track put a small screen in there and wire a front and rear dash cam.
What I'm wondering is does the navus system communicate with the can bus or computer at all and will pulling it trip any codes?

The Navus wiring harness plugs into the radio harness.
Just unplug and connect the remaining harness back into the radio.

I'll take it off your hands if not already flatten. Been thinking about hacking one into a camera display. Oh and I can use the harness to tap into the interior CANbus if you're left with an extra pigtail?

Easy enough to remove, it's just the holes in the dash... but a good dash mat covered ours.

Been thinking about removing mine too. Where did you get your dash mat from. Tried one with navus on dash but my navus was installed to close to windscreen and would not fit. So not sure what I should try if I manage to remove navus. Cheers
