Had the alternator replaced during service this week with the genuine part, after using the temporary alternator for a good 11months.

Adding notes here for knowledge.

THanks Imaz - 42100-7051 in mine, so not needed. Would of been great for Jeep to have just shared this information. Thanks for the persistence!

Just out of interest, did you get to keep the aftermarket one? Would definitely be worthwhile keeping it. Not sure when my genuine one will come up, Iíve had the aftermarket one in for about 8 months

Unfortunately not. FCA property, although dealer would have put it in their junk pile to take home.

Would certainly be nice to keep spare...

Looks like no recall for the CRDs , still waiting for it a mine died 16 months ago and was &1200 to repair , that included new battery as the old one was fried according to the repairer. FCA said keep receipts as they will recalllater perhaps
I doubt it.

Similar, but I replaced mine before the original failed so I don't get stuck in the middle of nowhere. FCA told me the same as you, but I suspect they'll wriggle out of the refund even if the recall happens. At least I have a still working spare.
