Scangauge II on JK Wrangler CRD
Hi all,
I have done a search and found conflicting replys as to whether the Scangauge II will work on a JK Wrangler CRD. Some said it did work ALL the time, others said it worked SOME of the time and then there were others who said it did not work at all. And then there is the Scangauge AU website which says some functions work on the "Wrangler TJ Diesel (2002 - 2007)" wtf that isnt even a real car! there were also conflicting reports as to whether it worked on the other CRD jeeps.
I have a 2007 CRD Manual JK Sport / Renegade.
So could people with CRD JK Wranglers who have a Scangauge II fitted please provide me some feed back on your experiences with it. In particular if it works, how well it works, and the gauges you have managed to add/view.
Maybe Wooders, you could shed some light on this as you are a distributor?
I am particulaly interested in the boost gauge, some people were reporting 22psi, this sounds pretty high? does anyone know what the JK runs out of the factory?
Thanks in advance guys.
ben.

22psi is what it runs mate, right out of the factory. it is supposed to run 22 psi. your scanguage will possibly show 36psi, depending on how it is set up. some show the complete pressure, atmospheric plus bosst pressure. that would make it 36 0n the guage. subtract 14 for atmospheric and the boost is 22 psi. i checked mine on an autoenginuity and it showed 36, less 14 equals 22. if it was to high you would get an over boost engine check light .

thething with these scan tools is that most are geared up for the u.s. market and in the u.s. there is no diesel wrangler, so some some guages won't read them. if they do they will only read some basic generic data. you would have to try before you buy.

wooders is obviously almost an icon on ajor, i suspect his advice would be pretty accurate. there are a few crd wranglers about and i bet he has sold a few scan tools for them. if he says they work on a jk it would be a pretty safe bet i think. just send him an email. he would get back within 24 hours. cheers mate.
