Anyone who is already in the club is allowed to stay, even if they no longer have a jeep. Its just that we're not letting anyone new in (who doesn't have a jeep). All our non-jeep members used to whine as soon as the rest of us headed off for Jambo, or camp coffs, so one easy way to fix that.

Can you guys give me an idea of how many paid up financial memberships you have in each club?
And is it one membership per couple or per person? (i.e If my wife and I want to become members, do we pay one membership or two?)

ACT we have only 20-25 members. A husband and wife count as 1 for us. A good thought though, we could double our membership numbers overnight.

Re MJOC - anyone can join with a different brand, as long as the 10% maximum is not full - they don't ned to be friends of members etc, and each year it is first in, best dressed.
A social member cannot own a 4wd at all, and they cannot drive on trips (except E grade). They can drive a club members car if they have done driver training.
Their membership is obviously cheaper.

a little off topic but wouldnt it be a good thing if more non jeep owners were involved with the jeep scene ie jambos and clubs etc ?

just thought it would broaden the scope and give real world comparisons to people that own other makes and prove the jeeps really dont catch fire every 10 minutes

Thanks for all the comments so far.

The Adelaide Club needs to look at changing some of our policies at the next AGM, and it is interesting to hear how other clubs handle these issues.

I know that JOCWA allows all makes/models to join the club with no set limit.

I'm only new there but have a feeling that its a big topic about Jeeps and non Jeeps being allowed.
