on some my early '96 (not my later '96, didnt have any issues)

undo the 10mm bolt that holds the A/C lines to the Alt bracket

wedge top rad hose out of way

you MAY need to loosen the clamp, or undo the water pump to heater hose
(I just loosened and rotated the clamp out of the way)

I eased the plug cap of with multigrips from the front

slip a slim (3/8 drive), long 16mm socket...its still a very tight fit

time taken ~30min

ps if you are changing the water pump, do it then, the steel pipe is what gets in the way..dont be a dickhead like me and forget
