Default 17x8 +6 offset (or 4.75" BS) on JK shortie

Hi guys,

Does anyone run these wheels on thier 2DR and do you get any rub on the guards on lock and at flex??

Ron why I ask is that I have a 2011 rubi, running a 2.5" lift with fox bypass reservoir shocks and synergy springs, (setup by DBOR) extended brake lines etc. etc.

I have found that when sway bar disconnected truck is at full flex and full lock, the tyre flexing up into the wheel arch rubs on shock, spring, and brake line.

This is with the factory wheels running 285's.

My main question is.... If I run the +6 wheels(I'm talking about procomp series 52 steels), it will get me away from the shock towers, brake lines, suspension.... But by moving my offset outwards, am I going to get rub on the factory guards?.?

I anyone could help me out with some answers or examples or personal experience with similar situation let me know.

Cheers.

Simon

Running the series 98 (17x8 w/ 4.47BS), no rubbing issues that I've noticed. The 285/70R17's just stick out past the guards, but the OEM guards are so deceptive, the closer you get the more they appear to swallow the tyres. Had numerous VicPol Highway Patrol come past me and have a look, but keep on driving, had a bike right next to me stuck in peak hour traffic, he was having a good ol look, but didnt seem too fazed. I'm running 2" lift, not running disco's, but havent had any issues to date. I'd ring up DBOR or Jeep Konection (Procomp) and ask them directly, they would have a tremendous amount of experience, hope the info helps.

With that amount of BS and 33s you shouldn't have any trouble with rubbing components within the wheel arch. To stop it from rubbing the bottom of the flares on full stuff/flex you will need to add more bump stop.
