so in english, what caused the fire?

the EGR?

CRD or V6?

The problem is these guys arent fire expert, so the result is far from conclusive. the fire definitly between the trans and the floor, and behind the engine block. there is also a bit of trace of oil spill at the right hand side of the engine block. the EGR pipe has a small hole that looks like being burned through.

So far this is the ONLY jk that is not burned to the ground. it has been atlease 3 JK burned at the same place in the past 2 month in china. 6 or 7 in the past 2 yrs in china alone

All JK sold in china are Auto, Petrol, both sahara and rubicon

Looks like the dip stick is missing from the auto

good spotting, the dipstick seems to be missing from the start, thou not sure if they lost it when putting out of fire, or it pop itself out when driving..

i would just about bet that the auto trans overheated and either blew fluid from the dipstick tube or the trans breather onto the exhaust and caught fire there. labouring around in the sand with an auto without an adequate cooling system spells trouble in any language!
