Last few weeks I extended my MBRP rack. The off-the-shelf MBRP rack doesnt fit with an AEV style snorkel - duh. So I set about designing and fabricating one that would fit. I use Solidworks everyday for work, so that was the easy bit. Sourcing the laser cutting at a reasonable price, roping my mate in to do the welding and finding a powdercoater were the pain in the arse bits.

Anyway turned out OK. Here's some pics.

Design (I changed the longitudinal bars to be a bent style to fit the front hoop, but buggered if i can find the pic on photobucket). You will also see one of my awning mounts (mounted to a fourtreks tube clamp).

Lasered and folded brackets (you will also see some end caps for my DBOR bar, and a rear tailgate drop down table - stay tuned!)

CNC mandrel bent tubes

Progress pic (didnt take many - oops)

Finished product

Give 'em a good posish with Silvo. Did this with our old MX5 years ago, brought the perspex window up a treat. Once they're looking good again, maintain them with Plexus. Get that from Autobarn, etc.
