Yea, cool mate and thanks. I am going down the optima route. Was gonna a couple of years ago but was advised by Total4WD that the ARB fridge I have doesn't like Optimas for some reason. It is all BS of course.
The optimas are so underrated. The big yellow top one had something like 880 CCAs but when you plug the meter in, it reads 1564 CCAs! Almost bloody double the rating, awesome! Plus having two, same dual batteries helps .

Yeah that is crap. My optimas are perfect. Run a blue for starting and winching and the yellow for aux use. Fridge has no issues. Might not like running on it for days but that's because they are only 55ah. Note there are 2 yellow tops, a light grey case and dark case and the dark is preferred for deep cycling. I went blue for starting instead of red as it has the second set of bolt type terminals which I use for the winch . just a bit neater.

I thought the standard WJ V8 alternator already put out 14.4V? At least mine does anyway, and I don't think it has been modded at all.
I had to check this for wiring up my Anderson plug and battery isolator for charging the camper trailer batteries whilst driving.

I believe that alternators put out different voltages depending on how much charge your battery requires, the temp of the battery, and in how good of nic the battery is in.
The resting voltage of oh a LA battery is around the 12.7v and fully charged right off a good charger is 13.2v.
A believe an alternator can put out anywhere from 12 - 15.5v & most alternators that are charging properly should produce a voltage of about 13.8 to 14.2 volts at idle with the lights and accessories off, this is of course different at variable temps as well. The lower the temperature the higher the charging voltage, and the higher the temperature the lower the charging voltage. The normal charging voltage on a typical application might be 13.9 to 15.1 volts at 25deg, and can go higher if the temp was below 0.
