Default Aftermarket Seats

I want to replace the seats in my JK, has anybody got pics of seats they are using, preferably Aussie supplied, and any info on the seats, like, where you got them, how much they were. I would like to get Mastercraft Baja seatd from the US , and at about $520 each they are not too bad, but as we all know you can double that just to get them here. If you got seats from the US and you think they are good and they were a reasonable price that would be good too.

Thanks

Yeahright.

Instead of replacing them I jacked up the front by about 20mm
Made the world of difference they now give some under thy support
Also looking at getting some pump up lumbar balloons like they put into recaros
Installed u can get em on fleaybay for about 30 each and yr friendly upholsterer will fit em.

I thaught of that but my issue is I have a bad back and I need the side and lateral support, and the JK I baught has had all the side bolsters squashed from who ever had the car before, and instead of getting them reappolstered it would like some new ones, but in saying that depending on the price I may have to get the original ones re apolstered, and if I do this I will get the sides made bigger and get lumbar support put in like you said. But ultimately I would like to get new ones.

While a backyard install might sound inviting, any seat mods require certification to keep it legal and insured. Do you have airbags in your seats, if so you have buckleys on changing them.
I would drop into an auto upholsterer and ask the cost to reshape or rebolster the factory seats. It won't be cheap but it will be effective, legal and look awesome!

I hve factered the mod plate in to the price, and no I dont have airbags in the seats, and I have been to a couple of local places to get the original seats rebolstered and reshaped, but nobody has got back to me, they all seemed too busy or diinterested, but I was wanting to see some pics of ones (if any) in Aus to see what people have done, and what types of seats they have used.

There's only one that I can remember and they used WRX seats, it was someone in vic, but I'm sure they sold the vehicle and are no longer on hear, do a search in the JK section.

I've done a seat swap on my JK, I bit the bullet and ordered Corbeau seats from the U.S. with the JK mounts. From memory they were less than $500 per seat including the base, I ordered them along with a lot of other stuff so I paid import duty and gst on the total price. Freight was around $600 but that was for a pallet of gear. The seats were a direct bolt in with no modification needed, I'll take some photos and post them up later.

Bogged, thanks for that but the price of the only seat was a Mastercraft non reclinable seat with lumbar support is $1678.00 each, this seat from Quadratec is $464.00, and for the reclinable Mastercraft Baja RS with lumbar support is $576.00 each with free ground shipping to Washington, where USA to AUS shipping will ship for $250 for the pair. I am not having a dig but the prices for us to buy here is insane, importing your own seems to be the way. For those of you out there there is a compamy that ships from Wahshington to Pimpama, just north of the Gold Coast for a really good price, for example they will ship a tyre up to 40" for $35.00 each, this means you can save up to $150.00 on each tyre, depending on what you are getting, same for wheels, for example 1 Procomp wheel approx $175.00 US and if you spend more that $500.00 US they usually have free ground shipping to any of the lower 48 states, then add $35.00 for shipping that is $210.00 per whell, instead we could pay up to and beyond $400.00 per wheel here, so what Im getting at is if there are any good places people know of that have good seats at a good price in AUS please let me know, like wise anybody who has US seats in their JK please let me know, because I have shipping sorted, I just want to know what people have in their JKs, I wanted pics so I can see them, and prices of what they got and from where, so I can make a good educated choice on what to get, likewise anybody who has had their seatd reshaped, and recovered, the same send some pics and where and how much it cost.

Thanks

You might have made better progress if you checked a price you doubted.
We did have the seat listed on our site but the price was incorrect (long story but was based on xrate of about 6 years ago and costed from being air freighted out.
If you have your freight "sorted" that's nice, but you can't fairly compare local buying costs to private import the way you are.
I can also assure you it cost me personally WAY more than $35each to ship 40" tyres out not that long ago.

Wooders,

Sorry my bad I did not read the web page properly, I was not trying in any way to bad mouth you or anyone, and I will look again at what you have, because if possible I rather buy the product and have it in a couple of days, but in saying that I spoke to the guy at usatoaus.com and he told me personally he would ship tyres up to 40" for $35.00 each to Pimpama on the Gold Coast. He imports cars and he says he offers the price because he allways has room in the containers for extra parts, the only thing being there is a 10 to 12 week wait for the container to arrive and go through customs. Once again I was not tyring to be rude I just did not look at your web page correctly.

Yeahright
